An individual may measure success and growth by many things. when it comes down to it there are three factors tat everything boils down to. three factors which when understand umbrella every concept field and subject for growth. Personal or self growth. Familial or intimate growth. social or civic growth.
Personal growth, is everything that you don’t need another for. all those skills and learnings which constitute your personal time. if you have a lack of personal time it is most likely your personal growth is atrophying. who are you when no one else is around? what skills do you have? What knowledge do you posses on your own? what wisdom’s do you practice? and more this is the field of self development.
Familial, or intimate, is how you act on a one to one basis with individuals. Generally speaking, intimate is not in relation to blood or legal ties strictly. it is those connections you cherish, those whom you invest time, money or effort into. however; ideally these are those you spend the most time with. these ones are the ones who determine who you will become, it is your tribe or herd.
Civic or social, ever realize that you are a different person in a group than alone? because your social growth is where you get to change the environment for your intimate relationships, this is the field of most large actions. this is who influences you and who you influence. when you leave the safety of ‘home’ this is how you affect the world at large. who is subject to you, and who you are subject to. position and prestige tend to matter more here.
These are the three growth factors. typically you need more purpose and organization in all three factors. more time in personal development, more nurturing intimate relationships, and more purpose in civic pursuits. too much focus in one area for too long creates an unbalanced individual. you may need to prioritize one for a specific reason for a time, but always recenter and work on all three. In this is a fulfilled life.
